Last month, a team of students, parents, teachers, and administrators visited the Challenge Success program conference at Stanford to find out more about how we can think about making TJ a healthier learning environment. As part of the conference, the lead team participated in two coaching sessions and then each team member was able to attend three workshop sessions of their choice. Session topics included grading improvement strategies, student advocacy, peer support, and workload balancing.
The team will continue meeting in October and bring other members of the staff’s implementation team on board. The next session with TJ’s Challenge Success coach will be on October 23rd and a survey to all students will be administered October 26th, so check your emails! Results from the survey will be shared shortly after. At that point, the team will reach out to the community for more input on school improvement, make reflections, and put together next steps.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to your student representatives, Ethan Phillips, Laney Moy, or Amber Garcha!
